Task:
Visual arguments like advertising and political cartoons aim to motivate the audience by associating their message with the values, emotions, and aspirations of the target audience. These arguments appear condensed; however, they do employ all the elements of argumentation. The rhetorical appeals ethos, logos, and pathos are usually central to visual arguments. In two or more detailed, well-developed paragraphs, identify specific uses of one or more of the rhetorical appeals (ethos, logos, pathos) in TWO of the visual arguments found in the example visual arguments on Canvas. Identify the target audience for the argument be specific here, something as general as “Americans” or “men” is not sufficient. Once you have identified the audience and the appeal(s) the artist uses, explain in detail how you believe the artist is using a particular appeal what specific strategies is he / she using to generate the appeal (see section on the rhetorical appeals in the Essay Instructions for Essay # 2)?
